Penn State College Pathways for Formerly Incarcerated Individuals 

Applications are open! 

December through January 18, 2026

Rising Scholars is a college and career readiness program for formerly incarcerated individuals who are thinking about college or professional training. The program includes a three-day college preparation event at Penn State University Park in April 2025, where participants will:

• Develop personalized college and career pathway plans
• Meet with faculty, advisors, and career counselors
• Learn how to navigate financial aid and educational resources
• Tour the Penn State campus, sit in on classes, and connect with current students

All housing, meals, and transportation are provided at no cost to participants.
